Ryu Jun Yeol’s Latest News, Starring in Lost Drama After 5 Years of Absence

How are you Ryu Jun Yeol? Long time unseen, Ryu Jun Yeol will be starring in a new Korean drama after a five-year absence. He last starred in the Korean drama Lucky Romance in 2016.

Ryu Jun Yeol rose to fame in 2015 when he starred in the Korean drama Reply 1988. In the same year, he made his television acting debut as a cameo in the Korean drama The Producers.

After the Korean drama Lucky Romance, Ryu Jun Yeol was flooded with offers and starred in several films such as Canola, A Taxi Driver, and Hit-and-Run Squad. He is also a permanent member of the television program Traveler.

This year, Ryu Jun Yeol will be starring in a special Korean drama that marks the anniversary of JTBC’s decade. He was paired with Jeon Do Yeon, in the Korean drama Lost also known as No Longer Human.

The Korean drama Lost, which carries the theme of a melodrama, tells the story of people who realize that they have not been ‘anything’ in their entire life. They try their best to see hope.

Jeon Do Yeon plays Boo Jung, a ghostwriter in his 40s who feels lost and seems insignificant. He wants to write original works in his name.

Boo Jung (played by Jeon Do Yeon) has tried to do her best in life. However, he suddenly met with failure and lost the reason to live.

Ryu Jun Yeol plays Kang Jae, a man who is facing the end of his youth and is afraid of becoming nothing. He grew up in a poor family and dreamed of becoming rich.

Ryu Jun Yeol’s character runs a service company where employees play whatever roles the client asks for. Despite struggling with poverty, Kang Jae fears that he will become nothing.

The production team for the Korean drama Lost revealed, the story of Boo Jung and Kang Jae who stepped into the dark and tried to find hope will provide empathy and healing for the audience.

“It’s been a long time since viewers have watched Korean dramas with deep emotions that melt their warm gazes. Look forward to their deep acting (Ryu Jun Yeol and Jeon Do Yeon) and incredible synergy,” said the Lost production team, as reported by Soompi.

JTBC has also released the latest teaser for the Korean drama Lost on Friday (16/7/2021). In the video, Boo Jung and Kang Jae make a sad confession to their father.

Boo Jung said, “My dad hasn’t been anything for over 40 years.” She struggles to live her life and sheds tears alone.

On the other hand, Kang Jae said, “I miss you, Dad, and even though I was born like everyone else, I didn’t think I could be anything.”

The two met unexpectedly bumping into each other. Because of how often they meet by chance, Kang Jae asks, “If we meet next time, will we die together?”

At the end of the video, Ryu Jun Yeol and Jeon Do Yeon lie on the same bed and snuggle up next to each other. Ryu Jun Yeol’s newest Korean drama, Lost will air on JTBC in September 2021.
